VOIDS
Each painting in the “Double Tap” series is composed of a collection of rectangles in ratios commonly associated with our digitized experience—such as 16:9, 16:10, and 4:3. These rectangles act as "windows" of information, inviting the viewer to make personal associations through subtle shifts in color and tone. The works are created on black burlap, maintaining continuity with my previous bodies of work. Tape and stencils are used to form provisional boundaries, encouraging the unpredictable flow of pigment that ultimately blurs these lines.
In this way, the paintings present both an objective and subjective experience. They challenge the viewer to consider the difference between what is real and what is perceived, calling attention to the fluid nature of boundaries—both within the artwork and in relation to how we navigate digital and physical worlds.
