Select Work > C O L O R W A Y S

The "C O L O R W A Y" series started in 2016 as the evolution of another idea . The re-occurring design used is inspired by the geometric design on the sole of the iconic Air Jordan 7 basketball sneaker originally designed by Tinker Hatfield in 1992. The colors used within these paintings are loosely based on the colors found in various Air Jordan sneakers. More recent paintings from this series incorporate color gradation reminiscent of artist Josef Albers' "Homage to the square".

I allow myself to make paintings in many sizes all adhering to 3:2 ratio, completed by the reorganization of color in the chosen palette. I am interested in the perceptual and conceptual affect that repeated painting of a composition has on the viewer's experience with the object.
